Coco’s Profile: Judgment, Snacks, and Absolute Power

“I don’t need your approval. I already judged you. Now give me snacks.”

 -Coco, probably

Light the charcoal. Sprinkle the sage. Today, we gather ’round the digital firepit to honor the most judgmental, snack‑loving, emotionally unavailable elected official this side of the Mississippi. We must cleanse the air before speaking her name, lest she appear behind us like a furry IRS auditor ready to collect emotional taxes. Coco, Mayor of the House, Duchess of Disdain, and Supreme Ruler of the Snack Cabinet.

Coco does not walk into a room. She descends like a Victorian ghost who died of pettiness and refuses to move on. She is the only cat who can make you apologize for breathing too loudly. She is the only cat who can make you feel judged for eating a snack she wasn’t even interested in until she saw you enjoying it. She is the only cat who has ever filed a noise complaint against a bag of chips.

Coco’s Profile: A Scientific Breakdown

  • Species: Cat
  • Occupation: Mayor of the House (self‑appointed, never elected, refuses to leave office).
  • Political Party: Snacks First.
  • Personality Type: J for Judgmental, S for Snacks, P for Petty, T for “Try me and see what happens”
  • Favorite Hobby: Sitting on the highest perch and glaring like she’s narrating a true crime documentary about your life choices.

Coco doesn’t just hold grudges. She collects them like Pokémon cards. If you pet Piper first? She will stare at you like you just committed tax fraud. If you move her from your lap because your leg is numb? She will file a formal complaint with the Department of Emotional Suffering. If you give Tinkerbell a treat and forget Coco? She will sit three feet away while facing the wall like a Victorian child in timeout.

Coco has mastered the art of snack manipulation. She will pretend she doesn’t want your snack. She will wait until you’re mid‑bite. She’ll stare at you with the intensity of a church usher judging your skirt length. She’ll make you feel morally obligated to give her the snack. She’ll then reject the snack. And then cry because you didn’t offer it correctly. She is the only creature who can make you feel guilty for eating your own food. In your own house that you pay for with your own money.

Coco judges my outfit. My cooking. My parenting.  posture. Your tone. And your existence. She once looked at me for sneezing like she was about to call a priest. She once watched me fold laundry. And then shook her head like your ancestors were ashamed. She once saw me drop a cracker. And proceeded to sigh so loudly the ancestors heard it.

Coco is petty in ways that defy science. She will knock something off the counter slowly, so I have time to reconsider my choices. She will sit on my laptop and open 47 windows just to prove she can. She will meow at 3 AM. And then walk away when I get up. Because she enjoys the chaos. She will refuse to come when called. But sprint when you whisper “snack.” She is the Beyoncé of petty. She is the Shakespeare of snack‑based drama. She is the Supreme Court Justice of silent judgment. And she’s all mine.

So as the charcoal burns low. And the sage smoke curls into the night. We honor Coco. Our mayor, our menace, our snack‑seeking shadow. May her reign be long. May her judgment be swift. May her snacks be plentiful. And may we never forget that Coco doesn’t live in my house. I live in Coco’s jurisdiction. Mic dropped. Coco caught it. And judged how you dropped it.

Affirmation: I honor Coco’s reign. I accept her judgment. And I release all fear of snack theft.

Piper’s Profile: A Study in Snacks, Speed, and Shenanigans

“Chaos is temporary. Piper is eternal.”

-This Puzzled Life

Light the charcoal. Sprinkle the sage. Today, we summon the spirit, the legend, the spastic insect‑stalking, impulsive, snack‑loving, spoiled American Ninja Warrior chaos gremlin of Deep South Mississippi. And her name is Piper.

We must prepare the ritual space, y’all. Because once Piper’s paws hit the floor, the veil between “normal household” and “absolute feral circus” becomes thinner than the elastic on a pair of 1987 Kmart leggings. Piper does not enter a room. Piper detonates into it like a glitter bomb packed by a caffeinated raccoon.

She is the patron saint of:

  • Unnecessary zoomies.
  • Snack theft.
  • Staring directly into your soul while knocking something off the counter.
  • And performing aerial stunts that violate at least three laws of physics and one HOA guideline.

Let us begin.

Piper’s Daily Agenda

  1. Wake up. Stretch like she’s preparing for the Olympic trials.
  2. Stalk an insect that may or may not exist. (She sees things the ancestors whisper about.)
  3. Sprint across the house at Mach 7. No destination. No reason. Just vibes.
  4. Demand snacks. Not ask. Demand. With the confidence of a toddler who knows you’re too tired to argue.
  5. Perform a backflip off the couch. Land sideways. Walk away like she meant to.
  6. Nap like she worked a double shift at the cat factory.

If National Geographic ever needs footage of a creature hunting a mosquito with the intensity of a Navy SEAL, Piper is ready. She crouches. She wiggles her butt like she’s tuning a radio. She leaps. She misses. She blames you.

Piper doesn’t “like” snacks. She identifies as snacks. She is spiritually connected to treats the way Gen X is spiritually connected to mall food courts and neon windbreakers. If you open a bag of chips, Piper materializes behind you like a Victorian ghost child whispering, “Share.” And if you don’t cater quick enough, she’ll help herself by leaping into the food situation.

Piper lives life with the reckless abandon of someone who has never paid a bill. Never filed taxes. And never had to explain to a teacher why her homework smells like cat drool. She is carefree in the way only a creature who believes the entire world is her emotional support sofa can be. She does not worry. She does not stress. She does not plan. She simply exists loudly. And honestly? We should all be more like Piper.

Piper has jumped from the fridge to the counter. Parkoured off the laundry basket. Run sideways across a wall like she’s auditioning for The Matrix. And has attempted to scale the shower curtain like it’s Everest. She is the only creature who can turn a calm Tuesday into a full‑scale emergency drill. But she’s still a momma’s baby who wants to be cuddled every time she wakes up from a much-needed nap.

And so, as the charcoal burns low and the sage smoke clears, we honor Piper. The spastic. Snack‑seeking. Insect‑stalking. Chaos‑gremlin ninja of the Deep South. May her zoomies be swift. May her snacks be plentiful. May her reign of adorable disorder continue forever. Piper out. Mic hits the floor. Rolls under the couch. And Piper immediately chases it.

Affirmation: I embrace my inner Piper. Carefree. Snack‑motivated. And unbothered by the laws of physics.

Proud Radical Left Lunatic Cats Go Voting

“Democracy is like a cat. Ignore it too long, and it’ll climb on your chest at 3 a.m. demanding your immediate attention.”

-This Puzzled Life

Light the charcoal. Sprinkle the royal blue glitter. Invoke my proud ancestors. Summon Great-Grandma Earlene. Who once chased a crooked snake across three counties with a broom and a prayer. Call upon Uncle Bubba the Wise. Who believed every citizen deserved a voice. Even if that citizen occasionally licked their own butt in public. And let all my long line of Mississippi ancestors smile down from the heavens. Because today their legacy of civic participation has reached its highest form.

My cats voted. Not only did they vote. They voted blue. Every single fur-covered democratic socialist. Election Day started with chaos, as most important historical events do. Piper, Coco, and Tinkerbell emerged from the bedroom wearing matching royal blue T-shirts. Piper’s shirt boldly declared, “PROUD RADICAL LEFT LUNATIC CAT. DON’T HISS ME OFF.” Coco’s shirt announced, “IMMIGRANTS DIDN’T EAT THIS CAT.” And Tinkerbell, never one to be subtle, strutted around displaying, “STAND AGAINST THE ORANGE TABBY ADMINISTRATION.” I knew right then that democracy was fixing to get loud.

They marched toward the local voting precinct like furry civil rights activists with whiskers and unresolved rage. As we approached the building, we encountered what historians will someday call The Red Hat Brigade. The group stood outside muttering things like, “Look at them Dumocrats.” “Typical libtards.” And “Those cats been watching too much CNN.”

Now, Piper is many things. Judgmental. Vindictive. Capable of holding a grudge for six fiscal quarters. But she is not one to suffer fools gladly. The cats exchanged a look. A slow look. A look that said, Oh, bless their hearts. Then Coco stepped forward and addressed the crowd. “Y’all keep talking about family values. But have you ever tried supporting your weird cousin. Respecting people’s rights. And minding your own business?” The silence could’ve been bottled and sold. Tinkerbell adjusted her tiny shirt and said, “We’ve reviewed your application for family values.” “And?” someone asked. “Denied” she said.

At that point, all three cats stood shoulder-to-shoulder. Tails high. Whiskers forward. Democracy in their eyes. And in perfect unison…HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Then they flipped the entire crowd the paw. Both paws, actually. Inspired by the one and only ANTIFA Sue. Piper had been practicing.

Inside the precinct, the cats took voting very seriously. Piper proudly voted for protecting the LGBTQIA+ community. “Everybody deserves to be themselves. Unless they’re trying to vacuum the house.” she declared. Reasonable position. Coco voted for women’s rights. “Women should control their own bodies. Also, nobody controls my body. I’ve bitten veterinarians for less”” she announced. Again, hard to argue. Tinkerbell focused on affordability. Specifically cat treats. “Have you seen the price of salmon snacks lately? At this rate I’m gonna have to take out a second mortgage on the scratching post” she yelled. She wasn’t wrong. Inflation has officially reached Fancy Feast levels.

The cats also shared one issue that united them above all others. Protein choice. Not because they wanted new proteins. Quite the opposite. They absolutely did not want anyone changing proteins. They had finally settled on one. After sixteen rejected brands. Seven hunger strikes. Three dramatic floor-flops. And an incident involving duck pâté that nobody discusses anymore. “We don’t want new proteins. We want new senators.” Piper declared. The polling workers nearly fell out of their chairs.

After voting, the cats strutted out of the precinct like tiny furry legislators returning from a successful bipartisan nap. The Red Hat Brigade was still outside. One guy shouted, “How’d voting go?” Piper smiled. That terrifying little smile cats get right before knocking something expensive onto the floor. “Wonderful! We participated in democracy,” she said. Then she paused. “And unlike some humans, we didn’t try to overturn the results by knocking over the ballot box.” Mic. Drop. Hairball. Whatever. Same energy.

As the sun set over Mississippi. And the royal blue glitter settled gently upon the earth. My cats returned home feeling proud, empowered, and mildly hungry. They had defended democracy. They had stood up for equality. They had fought for affordable treats. And most importantly, they had reminded everyone that citizenship isn’t about fear, anger, or who can yell the loudest. It’s about showing up. Casting your vote. Respecting your neighbors. And occasionally hissing at foolishness when foolishness absolutely refuses to leave.

So, if three judgmental house cats can walk into a voting precinct wearing political T-shirts. Endure a barrage of nonsense. Double flipped a synchronized paw. And still believe in democracy. The rest of us can probably manage too. And if not? Well. The cats are taking applications for a new Congress. Requirements include litter-box training, basic empathy, and the ability to mind your own damn business. Thanks for reading! And GO VOTE BLUE FOR DEMOCRACY!

Democracy Affirmation: I am stronger than internet arguments. Wiser than conspiracy memes. And more determined than a cat headed toward a plate of unattended chicken. I will stand up for others. Speak my truth. And remember that no matter how chaotic the world gets, I still have the right to flip life’s foolishness the paw and keep moving forward.

Dia Los Muertos: The Holiday That Terrifies Southern Prayer Warriors

“Fear is loud. But ignorance is louder. Especially when it’s holding a Bible upside down.”

-This Puzzled Life

Light the charcoal. Call upon the ancestors. Because today, sugar, we are gathered to stomp out stupidity with the force of a thousand chancla‑wielding grandmothers. And at least one Southern aunt who keeps holy water in her purse “just in case.”

The smoke is rising. The veil is thinning. And the ancestors are already peeking over the porch rail whispering, “Lord, these children don’t know nothing about Dia de los Muertos.”

Dia Los Muertos, “Day of the Dead”,  is a beautiful Mexican holiday honoring loved ones who’ve passed on. It’s not spooky. It’s not demonic. And it’s not a séance where your mee-maw comes back to fuss at you for not using enough butter in your cornbread.

It’s a celebration of life, memory, culture, and connection. Families build ofrendas (altars). Decorate with marigolds. Cook favorite foods. And welcome the spirits of their ancestors home for a joyful reunion.

It began centuries ago with Indigenous traditions from the Aztec, Maya, and other Mesoamerican cultures. Which blended later with Catholic influences. It’s about remembrance, love, and honoring the people who shaped you. Not fear. Not demons. Not “Satan entering the chat.” Which now brings us to the following.

Show a Southerner a sugar skull and suddenly every prayer warrior within a 40‑mile radius is activated like they’re Avengers assembling for spiritual combat. You pull out a colorful calavera and they clutch their pearls. Grab their Bible. And start rebuking things that aren’t even present. “Oh Lord, A Skull! Satan Has Entered The Building!” Ma’am, it’s literally a cookie. Meanwhile the ancestors are standing behind her like, “Sweetheart, you’re embarrassing us.”

Dia Los Muertos isn’t about worshipping death. It’s about celebrating life. But try explaining that to someone who thinks Halloween is a gateway drug to witchcraft. And that Harry Potter is a documentary.

Picture this. A Mexican family lovingly preparing their ofrenda. Candles glowing. Marigolds blooming. And photos of loved ones smiling back. Then a Southern neighbor peeks over the fence. Sees a skull. And immediately calls her church group. “Y’all, they’re doing rituals. I saw bones.”

Meanwhile, the Mexican grandmother is inside making tamales and minding her business.  The Southern neighbor continues, “I don’t know what’s happening. But I’m lighting a Bath & Body Works candle and praying over the property line.” The ancestors are now gathered. Sipping café de olla. And shaking their heads like, “Ignorance is a full‑time job in these parts.”

Dia Los Muertos is about honoring your people. Southerners do the same thing. They just call it “putting flowers on the grave.” And gossiping about relatives who didn’t show up. But add a skull? Suddenly it’s DEFCON 1.

So, as we stand here with charcoal lit. Ancestors summoned. And stupidity trembling in the corner. Let us remember this. Dia Los Muertos is not a threat. It’s not demonic. It’s not a spiritual emergency requiring Sister Linda to sprint across the yard with her emergency prayer shawl. It’s a celebration. A vibrant, joyful, sacred honoring of the people who made us who we are.

And if a skull sends someone into a panic? That’s not holiness. That’s not discernment. That’s not spiritual warfare. That’s just good old-fashioned, deep-fried ignorance served with a side of fear. And a tall glass of “I didn’t bother to learn anything.”

May the ancestors guide us. Correct us. And gently slap the nonsense out of us when needed. Because stupidity may be loud. But wisdom and culture will always be louder. Mic dropped. And echoing through the magnolia trees and marigolds alike. Thanks for reading! Are you one that fears this holiday?

Affirmation: I honor my ancestors with joy, not fear. I celebrate culture with curiosity. Not ignorance. My spirit is open. My humor is sharp. And my mind is free from foolishness.

Southern Baptist Ghost Hunters: Feline Edition

“If there is a ghost in this house, it left the moment Piper started speaking in tongues over the laundry basket.”

-This Puzzled Life

Light the charcoal. Sprinkle the sage. Negative energy go away. Because apparently my cats have decided they are the new Ghostbusters. And I’m just the unpaid intern who keeps the lights on and the snacks flowing. I woke up this morning to find Piper in a tutu chanting over a laundry basket. Tinkerbell taking EMF readings off a grocery list. And Coco negotiating with the afterlife using Temptations as currency. If the spirits weren’t haunting this house before, they sure are now. Mostly out of confusion. And now both Marshall and Copeland are involved. Lord, take the wheel.

There are moments when you realize your home has crossed from “normal Southern chaos” into “we need to call the pastor, the deacons, and maybe the prayer chain.” For me, that moment was when I walked into the living room and found Piper in a tutu speaking in tongues. Tinkerbell taking notes like the church secretary. Coco eating the communion snacks. Marshall holding a flashlight like he was leading youth group. Copeland standing there with a Pop‑Tart, already done with everyone’s nonsense. That’s when I knew my cats were conducting a full Southern‑Baptist‑adjacent paranormal investigation. And the boys had been drafted into service.

Piper: Lead Investigator, Chaos Medium, Revival Tent Evangelist

Piper strutted around like she was about to host a tent revival behind the Piggly Wiggly. “I feel a spirit,” she shouted with her paw raised like she was calling down the Holy Ghost. What she actually felt was the AC vent blowing on her tail. But she marched forward anyway, yelling, “The veil is thin,” “The spirit is moving,” “Marshall, bring me the holy water.” Marshall brought her a Capri Sun. She accepted it like it was blessed by the pastor himself.

Tinkerbell: Paranormal Analyst, Church Secretary of the Beyond

Tinkerbell followed behind her with a clipboard like she was taking minutes at a deacons’ meeting. Her notes included

·“Unexplained noise: 3:12 a.m.”

·“Possible apparition: laundry basket shadow”

·“Coco ate the communion snacks again”

·“Marshall is spiritually exhausted”

·“Copeland refuses to participate in foolishness”

She tapped her pen with the same judgmental rhythm as a Sunday School teacher who knows half the class didn’t read the lesson.

Coco: Snack Bait, Spirit Negotiator, Potluck Committee Chair

Coco waddled in carrying a bag of Temptations like she was bringing a casserole to the fellowship hall. “I’m not saying I’m bait. But if a ghost wants to share snacks, I’m open to fellowship.” She then ate the entire bag. No fellowship occurred.

Marshall: Flashlight Holder, Reluctant Acolyte, Spiritual Support Staff

Marshall stood there with the flashlight under his chin like he was telling ghost stories at youth camp. He sighed the sigh of a child who has accepted his fate. “Do I have to be here?” he asked.

Piper: “Yes. You are the light of the world.”

Tinkerbell: “Hold the flashlight steady.”

Coco: “Do you have snacks?”

Marshall: “I want to go home. I am home. I want to go somewhere else.”

Copeland: The Weary, The Pop‑Tart Prophet

Copeland walked in mid‑investigation. Took one look at the scene. And immediately regretted being part of this family. He stood there with a Pop‑Tart like it was the last shred of normalcy he had left.

Copeland: “Why are y’all in the dark with a candle?”

Piper: “We’re doing the Lord’s work.”

Tinkerbell: “Official business.”

Coco: “Do you have snacks”

Marshall: “Please take me with you.”

Copeland blinked twice. Turned around and left the room without a word. The universal sign of a sibling who has seen too much. And the cats gathered around the laundry basket like it was the baptismal font.

Piper: “The spirit is in here.”

Tinkerbell: “Based on what evidence?”

Piper: “My whiskers tingled.”

Coco: “My whiskers tingle when I think about chicken.”

Marshall: “That’s my shirt. Please don’t baptize it.”

Copeland: “I’m not cleaning up after this.”

Piper ignored everyone and dove into the basket like she was rebuking demons. She emerged holding a sock like it was a cursed relic. It was Marshall’s sock. Which, honestly, might actually need prayer. Piper stole my phone and set it to record.

Piper: “If there is a spirit here, give us a sign.”

Ice maker made a clunk.

Piper: “The spirit has spoken.”

Coco: “Ask it if it likes snacks.”

Tinkerbell: “Ask it to identify itself.”

Piper: “Ask it if it knows Jesus.”

Marshall: “Ask it to leave me alone.”

Copeland: “Ask it why y’all are like this.”

The recording later revealed Piper breathing like she’s preaching a revival. Coco crunching like she’s at a potluck. Tinkerbell sighing like a choir director with tone deaf altos. Marshall whispering, “I’m too young for this.” Copeland muttering, “I’m moving out.” Me in the background saying, “If y’all don’t get out of my laundry basket.” No ghosts. Just Baptist energy.

Filed by Tinkerbell, who runs her household like a church bulletin.

  • No ghosts found.
  • One sock cursed.
  • Coco ate the communion snacks.
  • Piper wants a Ouija board.
  • Tinkerbell says that’s witchcraft and we don’t do that in this house.
  • Marshall is requesting spiritual compensation.
  • And Copeland is requesting emancipation.

After this investigation, even the Holy Spirit needs a break. My cats have successfully scared away every spirit within a five‑mile radius. Not through bravery. But through the kind of chaotic Southern Baptist energy that makes even ghosts say, “You know what, I’m good.” Piper is still preaching. Tinkerbell is still judging. Coco is still eating. Marshall is still traumatized. Copeland is still pretending he doesn’t live here. If any spirits were haunting this house, they’ve moved somewhere quieter. Like a cemetery. Or a swamp. Or a Methodist church.

Affirmation: “I am calm, I am grounded, and I will not let a tutu wearing cat with revival‑tent energy convince me my laundry is haunted.”

The Night My Cats Tried to Out Haunt the Haunted

“My cats didn’t find a single ghost. But they did uncover a level of chaos that would make a demon file a noise complaint.”

-This Puzzled Life

Light the charcoal. Sprinkle the sage. Negative energy go away. When my cats announced they were going on a mobile paranormal investigation, I should’ve known we were headed straight into foolishness. My cats decided to investigate the most haunted Waffle House in the Deep South.

These three rolled up to the haunted location like they were the Ghostbusters, the deacons, and the health inspector all at once. Except with more fur, more attitude, and absolutely zero qualifications. If the spirits weren’t restless before, they sure are now. There are haunted houses. There are haunted forests. There are haunted cemeteries. And then there is the Waffle House on The Evelyn Gandy Parkway, which has seen more spiritual warfare, questionable decisions, and late‑night confessions than any cemetery ever could. So naturally, the FCCOA (Feline Chaos Coalition of America) decided that was the perfect place for their next paranormal investigation. I should’ve known something was wrong when Piper put on her tutu and said, “We’re going somewhere with energy.”

PIPER: Lead Investigator, Chaos Medium, Waffle House Prophet

Piper strutted into that Waffle House like she was the CEO of breakfast food and spiritual disruption. She hopped onto a booth seat. Raised her paw and declared, “The spirits are active.” What she actually sensed was a waffle iron that’s been screaming since 1998. But she was committed. She marched across the restaurant shouting, “The veil is thin,” “The hash browns are calling to me,” “This place needs a cleansing and a mop” Honestly, she wasn’t wrong about the mop.

TINKERBELL: Paranormal Analyst, Waffle House Safety Inspector

Tinkerbell followed behind her with a clipboard she absolutely stole from the hostess stand. Her notes included “Unexplained sizzling noise (grill or demon).” “Suspicious syrup puddle.” “Piper is being dramatic again.” And “this building is held together by prayer and grease.” She tapped her pen like she was preparing to shut the place down for spiritual violations.

COCO: Snack Bait, Spirit Negotiator, Hash Brown Enthusiast

Coco waddled in carrying a bag of Temptations like she was bringing a casserole to a potluck. “I’m not saying I’m bait,” she said. “But if a ghost wants to share hash browns, I’m open to fellowship.” She then tried to eat a pat of butter straight off the table. Tinkerbell wrote “biohazard” on her clipboard.

The cats spread out like they were conducting a full‑scale exorcism of the breakfast menu.

Piper: “The spirit is in this corner.”

Tinkerbell: “Based on what evidence?”

Piper: “My whiskers tingled.”

Coco: “My whiskers tingle when I think about bacon.”

Piper pointed dramatically at the jukebox. The one that randomly plays “Sweet Home Alabama” at 3 a.m. even when it’s unplugged.

Piper: “The ghost lives in this machine.”

Tinkerbell: “That’s just Alabama energy.”

Coco: “Ask it if it takes song requests.”

Piper leapt onto the jukebox like she was rebuking demons. The jukebox responded by playing a single, tragic note. Piper screamed. Tinkerbell wrote “haunted” in all caps. And Coco asked if the ghost accepted snack donations.

Piper set my phone to record.

Piper: “If there is a spirit here, give us a sign.”

Waffle iron: SCREEEEEEEEECH

Piper: “The spirit has spoken.”

Coco: “Ask it if it likes hash browns.”

Tinkerbell: “Ask it to identify itself.”

Piper: “Ask it if it knows Jesus.”

The recording later revealed Piper breathing like she’s preaching a revival. Coco crunching. Tinkerbell sighing like a choir director with tone deaf altos. A waffle iron screaming for help. And me saying, “Why are y’all in a Waffle House at midnight?”

Just when they were about to wrap up, a shadow moved across the restaurant.

Piper: “The spirit approaches.”

Tinkerbell: “Everyone remain calm.”

Coco: “Tell the hash browns I love them.”

The figure stepped into the light. It was the night shift cook. He looked at the cats. The cats looked at him. He sighed like a man who has seen everything and fears nothing.

Cook: “Y’all investigating ghosts or ordering food?”

Piper: “We’re working.”

 Tinkerbell: “Official business.”

Coco: “Do you have snacks?”

He shrugged and went back to flipping waffles like nothing happened.

THE OFFICIAL FCCOA PARANORMAL REPORT

Filed by Tinkerbell, who takes her job too seriously:

  • No ghosts found.
  • One jukebox cursed.
  • Coco ate a butter packet.
  • Piper wants to investigate the freezer next time.
  • Tinkerbell says absolutely not.
  • The cook is unfazed.

After this investigation, even the waffle iron needs therapy. My cats have successfully scared away every spirit in that Waffle House. Not through bravery, but through sheer, unfiltered foolishness. Piper is still preaching. Tinkerbell is still judging. Coco is still eating. And the night‑shift cook is still telling people, “I seen some things last night.”

And after watching my cats terrorize yet another haunted location with the confidence of creatures who have never paid a bill, I need every cleansing ritual known to humankind. Piper is ready to file a spiritual lawsuit. Tinkerbell is drafting a report no ghost will ever read. And Coco is still trying to negotiate snacks with the afterlife. If any spirits were lingering, they’ve relocated to a quieter haunting. Like maybe a swamp, a cornfield, or literally anywhere my cats are not. Thanks for reading! Happy Halloween.

Affirmation:  “I am steady, I am centered, and I will not let three overconfident cats convince me that every flickering light is a portal to the beyond.”

National Cat Day According to Piper, Coco, and Tinkerbell

“Cats don’t need National Cat Day. They already celebrate themselves daily.”

-This Puzzled Life

Light the charcoal. Sprinkle the sage. Hide the breakables. Because on National Cat Day, my three furry dependents, Piper, Coco, and Tinkerbell, believe they are entitled to diplomatic immunity, tax-free treats, and a parade down the hallway complete with confetti made from shredded toilet paper. My household has already turned into a feline-led congressional hearing with zero decorum and unlimited snacks.

I woke up this morning thinking, “Let’s celebrate my cats.” My cats woke up thinking, “Let’s overthrow the government.” Check out our conversation.

Me: Alright, y’all. It’s National Cat Day. Let’s act right.

Piper: (leans in like she’s about to deliver breaking news) “I’ll act right when you act right.”

Coco: “I would like to file a grievance.”

Tinkerbell: “I would like a sunbeam, a soft blanket, and silence.”

Me: “What’s the grievance, Coco?”

Coco: “You breathed too loud this morning. It disrupted my REM cycle.”

Piper: “And you moved the pillow on the couch. Without consulting the board.”

Tinkerbell: “I don’t care about any of this. I just want my treats delivered away from these two feral raccoons.”

Me: “It’s National Cat Day. Can we please celebrate peacefully?”

Piper: “I need to call the family therapist.”

Me: “For what?”

Piper: “For the trauma of living with you.”

Coco: “And for the trauma of living with Piper.”

Tinkerbell: “And for the trauma of thunder.”

Me: “Can we at least take a cute picture for National Cat Day?”

Piper: “I don’t perform for free.”

Coco: “I need a contract.”

Tinkerbell: “I’ll do it if you promise Coco won’t breathe on me.”

Me: “Fine. Let’s just celebrate. I’ll give y’all extra treats.”

Piper: “I want mine plated.”

Coco: “I want mine thrown like confetti.”

Tinkerbell: “I want mine delivered like room service at a five-star spa.”

Me: “Y’all are exhausting.”

Piper: “And yet… you adore us.”

Coco: “You’re welcome.”

Tinkerbell: “Bless your heart.”

And that, my friends, is how National Cat Day goes in my house: Piper calling emergency press conferences about absolutely nothing. Coco filing grievances like she works for HR in Hell. Tinkerbell floating through the chaos like a tiny feline Brene Brown who has transcended earthly nonsense.

I tried to celebrate them. They celebrated themselves. I tried to honor them. They honored their own drama. I tried to give them treats. They demanded reparations. So here’s my official National Cat Day statement: I live with three furry dictators who run this house like a chaotic Southern monarchy, and I wouldn’t trade them for all the peace, quiet, and sanity in the world. Let the ancestors deal with the rest. Thanks for reading!

Affirmation: I honor the chaos. Embrace the fur. And accept that my cats are the landlords and I am simply the tenant.

Coco vs. Starbucks: The Kitty Cup Uprising

“Healing begins the moment you stop yelling at imaginary baristas.”

 -Coco, post‑therapy

Light the charcoal. Sprinkle the sage. Protect your peace. Secure the breakables. Hide the good throw pillows. Coco, our household’s Agent of Justice, One Scenario People‑Pleaser Emeritus, and Emotional Support Janitor, has discovered that Starbucks offers pup cups but not kitty cups. And she is not taking it well.

She is pacing the kitchen like she’s about to filibuster the entire household. She’s muttering about “traditional values,” “the decline of American respect for felines,” and “the liberal agenda of canine favoritism.” I’m standing there holding my coffee like a hostage. And wondering if I need to call her therapist? And should I ask if she offers emergency anger‑release sessions for cats who feel politically marginalized by dairy foam.

Coco: “I just think it’s real interesting that Starbucks can say “pup cup” but not “kitty cup.” What about the cats? What about the taxpaying cats?”

Me: “Coco, you don’t pay taxes.”

Coco: “I pay in emotional labor.”

Piper (dramatically entering like she’s auditioning for a reality show): “Oh my God, Coco, not this again. Just take the whipped cream and go.”

Coco: “It’s about principle!”

Tinkerbell (adjusting her glasses, sipping imaginary tea): “Statistically speaking, Coco, you are experiencing a disproportionate emotional response to a dairy‑based product.”

Coco: “I am experiencing oppression!”

Me: “Okay. I’m calling our therapist.”

This is a dramatic reenactment. Because the therapist said it was okay to use this for “creative processing.”

Therapist: “So, Coco, tell me what brings you in today?”

Coco: “The system.”

Therapist: “Okay. Can you be more specific?”

Coco: “Starbucks. They hate cats. They hate me personally. I am being targeted!”

Therapist: “Let’s try grounding. Can you name three things you see?”

Coco: “Injustice. Discrimination. And a lack of feline‑centered branding.”

Therapist: “Alright. Let’s try a different approach. I’m going to bring in a pretend Starbucks employee. You may direct your feelings toward them.”

Me (whispering): “Oh this is gonna be good.”

Therapist (gesturing to an empty chair): “Coco, this is “Brad.” Brad works at Starbucks. Brad is here to listen.”

Coco (eyes narrowing like Clint Eastwood in a showdown): “Brad, Why No Kitty Cups?”

Therapist: “Good, Coco. Use your words.”

Coco: “Brad, you listen to me. I am a consumer. I am a woman of culture. I am a cat of the people. And you will put some respect on my name.”

Therapist: “Excellent. Now tell Brad how this made you feel.”

Coco: “Like a second‑class citizen in my own country.”

Therapist: “Coco, remember. Brad is just a pretend Starbucks employee. He’s here so you can safely express your feelings.”

Coco (vibrating with righteous indignation): “I am expressing them!”

Me: “Coco, breathe. Use your coping skills.”

Coco: “My coping skill is justice!”

And before anyone can intervene, Coco launches herself across the therapy room like a voluptuous, furious Republican senator storming a school board meeting. She lands squarely on Fake Brad’s empty chair and gives it one decisive, symbolic chomp. It was not harmful. Not violent. It was just the kind of dramatic gesture that says, “This is what happens when you disrespect cats.”

Therapist (scribbling notes like their license depends on it): “Okay! Okay. That was a big feeling. Let’s label that. That was anger.”

Tinkerbell: “Technically, that was a behavioral outburst.”

Piper: “Technically, that was iconic.”

Me: “Technically, that was assault on a piece of furniture. But we’ll unpack that later.”

Therapist: “Coco, can we try using our words instead of our teeth?”

Therapist: “Beautiful. Now, Coco, I want you to imagine Brad apologizing.”

Coco: “Good. He should.”

Coco (still perched on the chair like a victorious war general): “BRING ME MY KITTY CUP.”

Therapist: “And now imagine Brad offering you a kitty cup.”

Coco (softening): “With extra foam?”

Therapist: “Yes, Coco. With extra foam.”

Coco (sniffling): “Okay. I can heal.”

Coco left therapy feeling spiritually renewed. Emotionally validated. And ready to re‑enter society without threatening to boycott Starbucks on Facebook like a suburban aunt with too much time and too many opinions. She still wants kitty cups. She still believes she’s a political prisoner of dairy injustice. But she’s calmer. And Brad. Imaginary though he may be. Has learned his lesson. That’s on emotional regulation, feline edition.

And now because our home is built on equality, justice, and the feline constitution. I must fix each of them a kitty cup every single day. So, no one feels oppressed by dairy‑based nomenclature ever again. Thanks for reading! And boycott pup cups until they become kitty cups. Do you treat your animals to those tasty little whipped cream filled cups?

Affirmation: I release what is not mine. Reclaim what is. And refuse to let dairy foam define my worth.

Light the Charcoal, America: Our Bisexual President Just Hit on a Microphone Again

“Authenticity is fabulous. Chaos is optional. Microphones are not for kissing.”

 -The Gay Ancestors

Light the charcoal. Light the rainbows. Light the disgrace. Light the incense because the gay ancestors are about to perform a spiritual intervention. Today, we gather to discuss President Donald J. Trump. The first bisexual president in American history. And unfortunately, the first president to confuse a press conference with a Pride afterparty. A microphone with a consenting adult. And the Lincoln Memorial with a man he met on Grindr in 2009.

Harvey Milk is pacing like a disappointed dad at a PTA meeting. Marsha P. Johnson is shaking her head so hard her flower crown is slipping. Sylvia Rivera is already halfway out the door to “handle it.” Stormé DeLarverie is cracking her knuckles. Miss Major is sipping her tea muttering, “This ain’t the representation we fought for.” Even the rainbow flag has filed for FMLA.

Let’s be honest. The queer community wanted a bisexual president. We deserved a bisexual president. We manifested a bisexual president. But what we got was Donald Trump. A man in his death‑bed‑confession era who’s wandering around the White House like a bisexual Forrest Gump with dementia. And saying things that make even the microphones ask for hazard pay.

The Bisexual Behaviors That Have Us Mortified

1. The Microphone Incident During a press briefing Donald leaned in. Puckered up. And gave the microphone the kind of attention usually reserved for a Pride weekend hookup. Piper walked out of the room whispering, “I can’t watch this man commit felonies against audio equipment.”

2. The “Sir, Your Ass Is a National Treasure” Moment Coco still hasn’t recovered. She said, “I was licking my paw. Minding my business. And suddenly he’s complimenting a reporter’s butt like he’s judging a drag pageant.”

3. The Secret Service Seduction Tinkerbell reports, “He winked at Agent Rodriguez so hard he sprained his eyelid. They had to call medical.” Stormé DeLarverie is somewhere whispering, “I should’ve been president.”

4. The ‘Daddy’ Debacle Donald called the Speaker of the House “Daddy” on live television. Harvey Milk fainted. Marsha P. Johnson threw her purse.

5. The Lincoln Memorial Comment He said, “Lincoln has big top energy.” Sylvia Rivera screamed into a throw pillow.

6. The Bicurious Budget Meeting He told the Joint Chiefs, “We need to cut spending. But not on men’s underwear ads.” Miss Major simply stood up and left the room.

The community’s reaction included drag queens have issued a formal statement titled: “We Do Not Claim This Man.” Bisexuals everywhere are filing emotional damage claims. Grindr has banned the entire ZIP code of Washington, D.C. The rainbow flag has taken a personal day and refuses to return until further notice. The gay ancestors have formed a committee called The Council of Queer Disappointment. Even the cats have opinions.

  • Piper: “He’s giving chaotic Gemini energy and I don’t like it.”
  • Coco: “I’ve seen hairballs with more dignity.”
  • Tinkerbell: “He needs to be put in a time‑out with no glitter.”

So here we stand, America. Under the leadership of a man who treats microphones like romantic partners. Flirts with monuments. And confesses bisexual thoughts like he’s reading slam poetry at a nursing home talent show. We wanted a bisexual president who embodied authenticity, courage, and queer brilliance. We wanted a leader who honored the legacy of Harvey, Marsha, Sylvia, Stormé, Miss Major, and every ancestor who fought for liberation.

Instead, we got Donald Trump. A bisexual fever dream wrapped in dementia‑era confessionals. Wandering the halls of the White House asking men if they “work out their glutes.” The gay ancestors have spoken. “This is not our king. This is a chaotic bisexual raccoon in a suit.” And honestly they’re right.

So let this be a lesson to America. If you’re going to elect a bisexual president, make sure he’s not in his confused‑grandpa‑thirst‑trap era. Giving microphones a blow job. And calling political leaders “Daddy.” As well as being a power bottom for a Russian dictator and an Israeli prime minister. Because representation matters. And this representation has us hiding behind throw pillows. Clutching pearls and whispering, “Not like this, Lord. Not like this.” Glitter explosion. Cats judging silently. To our fellow family members in the LGBTQIA+ community, I am so sorry this is the example of our first gay president. Go VOTE!!!

Affirmation: I am glittery. Grounded. Guided by ancestors who know better. And protected from chaotic bisexual presidents by the power of rainbow boundaries.

The Liberal Emergency Response Team And The Great American Deprogramming

“Democracy isn’t fragile. It’s just tired of babysitting people who think freedom means ‘no rules and unlimited queso.’”

-This Puzzled Life

Light the charcoal. No, seriously. Light it. We’re starting this event with an emergency rush on the ancestors. Because we need every last one of them to help keep the bad spirits of fascist nonsense and red‑hat ignorance at bay. We’re talking about the auntie ancestors, queer ancestors, feminist ancestors, ancestors who died fighting for democracy. The ancestors who died fighting for seasoning. And the ancestors who died because someone said, “Let’s try essential oils instead of antibiotics.” We call upon them all.

AAs the charcoal smolders, a volunteer in a rainbow caftan rings a bell and announces, “Spirits of democracy, please protect us from the unseasoned forces of authoritarianism.” The smoke rises. The glitter falls. The ancestors nod. The red hats tremble. Welcome to the Right Side of History Liberal Event.

You’ve escaped the cult. You’ve shed the cloud of “trad wife obedience.” You’ve arrived at color, clarity, and community. Everyone is welcome except fascists, racists, homophobes, authoritarian fanboys, and anyone who thinks God needs a hype man. Unity only. Diversity only. Humanity only.

If you brought your children be warned that members of current red hat cult members will likely show up. If you see them please keep your children close. As they are not to be trusted around minors and non-consenting adults.

The Drag Queen Hospitality Committee greet newcomers with seven‑foot wigs. Eyelashes visible from orbit. And clipboards labeled “Mandatory Fabulousness Audit.” If you don’t have glitter on you by noon, they’ll fix that.

The Furry Outreach Program (Now With Litter Boxes!) run hydration. Yes, they brought litter boxes. No, they are not for what conspiracy theorists think. The litter boxes are full of tip jars, snack containers, glitter disposal units, and one labeled “Authoritarian Tears Only.”

The Tran Joy Department volunteers assemble Gender Euphoria Starter Kits with a coupon for one moment of pure self-love. Affirmation stickers. Glitter blessed by trans elders. And a laminated card that says, “You’re doing amazing!” Joy is happening. Mind your business.

The Women’s Rights & Feminist Liberation Zone is a welcome to the area where abortion is healthcare. Not a sin. Contraception is a right. Feminism is mandatory. And yes, trans women are women. They will have a large sign that reads, “Those Who Carry The Water For The Patriarchy Will Be The First To Drown.” You will leave this area transformed. You will leave with a spine. You will leave with a voice. You will leave with a refusal to ever shrink again. This area is where patriarchy comes to die.

Teachers’ Lounge: Politically Upgraded Teachers cannot perform surgeries.
But they can teach, inspire, protect, and survive chaos daily. A rainbow flag will be replacing the 10 Commandments. And they will have a sign reading, “We teach love, not indoctrination.”

Immigrant Welcome Station Snacks from all cultures will be represented. And a sign reading, “You’re Safe Here.” And a volunteer sheet titled, “Teach Americans to Season Food.” If you are still active in the red hat brigade, you will be given a saltine cracker and two pieces of white bread. And the meat will be local roadkill. You can flavor it with Treason Seasoning. And we have you some special water taken from the AI data centers that you voted for. Don’t worry about the color or the floaters. Those are the precious minerals shipped in directly from Greenland.

The Black Community Appreciation Corner will feature a DJ spinning tracks white liberals pretend they already knew. A BLM flag flying proudly. A suggestion box labeled “Stop Doing This.” And a sign reading, “Thank You For Carrying Democracy, Again.”

The Veterans Honor Hall is an area run by veterans who have decided they’re done watching democracy get treated like a clearance‑rack item at Dollar General. And the energy of “I fought for this country. Not for fascist cosplay.” It’s for those who fought for democracy. Who served with honor. And those who protected freedoms we still fight for today. Leading the charge are the most vocal veterans such as:

  • Rig Madden-retired, loud, and allergic to authoritarianism.
  • Gunny Speaks Out-former Marine, current menace to injustice. Who rides around on his motorcycle with a “Fuck Trump” flag and resistance music blaring.

·      Jolly Good Ginger– is the veteran who laughs like a Scottish war drum. Has a beard that could legally vote. Carries a laminated copy of the Constitution like it’s a Pokémon card. Says things like “I didn’t fight for this country so y’all could turn it into a Hobby Lobby fever dream.” And ends every speech with, “Liberate. And don’t let fascism dry out your soul.” He is the one who organizes the Veteran Oath Refresher Course. Where veterans loudly remind active military and Congress, “Your oath wasn’t a suggestion.” He’s also the unofficial hype man of the most infamous protest in veteran history Operation: Dildo Blitz. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1CTJ4uY7U2/?mibextid=wwXIfr

It was a peaceful but unforgettable protest against ICE, where participants threw rubber dildos while yelling, “F*** ICE!” Jolly Good Ginger described it as, “The most patriotic thing I’ve seen since boot camp. A direct hit to injustice, literally. The Founding Fathers would’ve been confused. But proud.”

Veterans stood shoulder‑to‑shoulder, reminding America that patriotism is not a hat. Democracy is not a prop. And civil disobedience is sometimes best delivered with comedic precision. This zone is loud. Proud. And ready to defend democracy with megaphones, constitutional literacy, and Jolly Good Ginger’s battle cry, “Democracy doesn’t run on vibes. It runs on us.” Their mission is simply to remind active military of their oath. Remind Congress of their oath. And to remind America that patriotism is not a truck decal. And that democracy is not optional.

Holy Water Countermeasures include actions for if red‑hat evangelicals spray holy water, we respond with a Blue Tsunami of democracy. Followed by a rainbow mist. And a pamphlet titled, “Diversity Isn’t Persecution.”

Special Guests for the ‘Welcome to the Right Side of History’ Event include people like Robert De Niro, Pink, Meryl Streep, Barbra Streisand, Jelly Roll, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. They’re here to give speeches. And remind everyone that democracy is sexier than authoritarianism.

Grindr Crash Zone. About an hour away, there’s a meet‑up area where the red hat attendees will be on Grindr. Get there early. The servers will absolutely crash.

Cracker Barrel Takeover. After the protest, we march as a colorful, accepting liberal mob into Cracker Barrel.Changes include gender‑neutral bathrooms, pride‑painted rocking chairs, vegan menu options, banned historical books on the mantle. Rainbow socks replacing Confederate décor. Drag queens seat you. Furries host. Lesbians fix the chairs. And trans men and women reorganize the store by color gradient.

Welcome to liberalism. Welcome to color. Welcome to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Welcome to clarity. Welcome to community. Welcome to This Puzzled Life. Grab a latte. Grab a banned book. Grab a pair of pearls. Because some red hat is going to need to clutch them.

And so, as we stand here with charcoal lit. Ancestors summoned. Glitter airborne. Veterans yelling at Congress like disappointed uncles at Thanksgiving. Drag queens adjusting their wigs for aerodynamic resistance. Trans men and women with radical authenticity. And furries hydrating democracy one juice box at a time.

Let it be known that we are not the storm. We are the entire weather system. We are the Blue Tsunami. We are the ones that shows up with banned books, civil rights, science, seasoning, and a reusable water bottle covered in stickers that make red hats sweat. We are the people who read. We are the people who vote. We are the people who know the difference between patriotism and cosplay. We are the people who will not be silenced, dimmed, or dehydrated.

Because the next time fascism knocks, we’re answering the door with a drag queen, a veteran, a furry, a lesbian with a tool belt. A trans person with a megaphone. And a choir of liberals singing “Not Today, Satan.” Mic dropped. Stage cleared. Democracy moisturized. Ignorance denied. Amen and pass the seasoning. Thanks for reading! And Resist Fascism!

Affirmation: I am calm. I am grounded. I am glitter‑coated. And I am fully prepared to defend democracy with humor, humanity, and a hydration pack.
